Usage and Maintenance of Rough Terrain Forklifts

I. Correct Starting and Initial Operation of Rough Terrain Forklifts After a cold start of a rough terrain forklift, it should be warmed up at low throttle for 3-5 minutes before driving off; during initial operation, it should work under light load for a period of time, and only after the temperature rises should heavy-load operation be carried out. II. Maintaining Normal Engine Temperature for Rough Terrain Forklifts If the diesel engine temperature is too low, proper lubrication cannot be maintained, which will increase friction on the cylinder walls; if the temperature is too high, it will reduce cylinder strength and aggravate wear, and may even cause excessive piston expansion resulting in a "cylinder scuffing" accident. The normal working temperature of a diesel engine is 80-90°C; when it exceeds 95°C, the load should be reduced or the engine should be shut down. III. Maintaining Good Lubrication for Rough Terrain Forklifts Regularly check and maintain good oil quality and proper oil level, replace the oil periodically, and select oil of appropriate viscosity according to the season to ensure good lubrication. IV. Strengthening the Maintenance of the "Three Filters" (Air Filter, Oil Filter, and Diesel Fuel Filter) This is a major measure to prevent mechanical impurities from entering the cylinder, reduce cylinder wall wear, and extend the service life of the engine. It is especially important for diesel engines used in rough terrain forklifts that frequently operate in high-dust environments. V. Improving the Quality of Maintenance and Repair Strictly carry out maintenance and repair operations in accordance with the technical standards specified in the diesel engine operation and maintenance manual. Adjust and control the various fitting clearances (opening clearances) to prevent accelerated wear between the piston and cylinder walls caused by improper repair or maintenance.
