# Precautions and Maintenance for Internal Combustion Diesel Forklifts

As the heart of an internal combustion forklift, the engine is naturally an important part of the whole vehicle. Whether it is the engine of an internal combustion diesel forklift or the motor of an electric forklift, both directly affect the operation of the whole vehicle. Therefore, the daily maintenance of the internal combustion forklift engine is an essential task. Below, Niu Li will introduce the precautions and daily maintenance contents for the engine. 1. Precautions for the use of internal combustion diesel forklift engines A new engine or an internal combustion diesel engine after major repair must not operate at full load and high speed at the beginning. It must run at low speed and light load for 50 hours before it can be put into normal operation. Ensure the cleanliness of the fuel. If necessary, it can be filtered by sedimentation or silk cloth. Maintain normal water temperature (70~85°C) and oil pressure (0.2~0.4MPa at medium speed). If any abnormality is found during operation, stop the machine immediately for inspection. "Hard water" should not be used as cooling water to prevent scaling and shorten the service life of the engine. 2. Daily maintenance of internal combustion diesel forklifts Check whether the oil level in the oil pan is between the two marks on the dipstick and close to the upper mark. After refueling a new engine or an internal combustion diesel engine that has been out of service for a long time, first run it at low speed for 5 to 10 minutes and then stop it, then measure the oil level again with the dipstick. Check the water volume in the water tank. Check the oil level in the injection pump. If it is insufficient, add oil to the specified position. Eliminate three types of leakage (oil, water, and air). Check the tightness of parts and accessories. Check the cleanliness, remove oil stains and dust, and pay special attention to the dryness and cleanliness of electrical equipment. After running under light load for 50 hours, a new engine should promptly replace the engine oil (including the oil in the injection pump) and the engine oil filter element, and clean the oil pan and the engine oil collection filter. Protect daily lubricating oil additives in a timely manner.
