What Should You Do When a Diesel Forklift Won't Start?

Fault causes when a forklift diesel engine fails to start: 1. Fuel supply system fault There is air in the fuel system. Remedy: Use the fuel pump to remove the air inside the system, and check whether the system has air leakage. The fuel system is clogged. Remedy: Disassemble and clean. No fuel supply or intermittent fuel supply. Remedy: Check and repair. Poor fuel injection by the injection pump. Remedy: Check the spray condition of the injector. Incorrect fuel supply advance angle. Remedy: Check the wear condition of the injection pump plunger and delivery valve, and whether the delivery valve spring is broken. The intake air damper is not opened, or the fuel cut-off handle is in the fuel cut-off position. Remedy: Open the intake damper, or place the fuel cut-off handle in the fuel supply position. 2. Insufficient compression pressure Poor piston wear. Remedy: Replace the piston rings. Piston ring coking (carbon deposits). Remedy: Remove carbon deposits. Valve leakage. Remedy: Take corresponding measures for conditions such as broken valve springs or reduced elasticity, improper valve clearance, and poor sealing of the valve cone surface. The compression end temperature is too low. Remedy: When the outside temperature is low, solve the problem by methods such as preheating. 3. Electrical system fault Insufficient battery charge. Remedy: Charge until the specified requirements are met. Poor wire connection. Remedy: Check whether the wiring is correct and reliable. Poor contact between the starter motor brushes and the commutator. Remedy: Repair or replace the brushes, clean the commutator surface with fine sandpaper, and blow away the dust. Insufficient torque or slipping of the starter clutch plate. Remedy: Add shims and adjust. The starter gear cannot engage with the flywheel ring gear. Remedy: Find out the cause and handle it.
