If the cargo's center of gravity is equal to or less than the forklift's standard load center distance, the rated lifting capacity of the selected forklift should be equal to or slightly greater than the cargo weight. If the cargo's center of gravity exceeds the forklift's standard load center distance, the tonnage should be determined based on the forklift load capacity curve chart provided in the forklift's specification sheet.
