For large machines like forklifts, once a breakdown occurs, maintenance becomes extremely time-consuming and labor-intensive, making routine maintenance especially important. Forklift maintenance is primarily divided into three levels: first, second, and third. What do these levels mean respectively?
Main contents of first-level forklift maintenance:
1. Check the oil level, oil viscosity, and the degree of dirt contamination in the oil;
2. Clean the battery and add distilled water as needed;
3. Inspect the appearance and tension of the fan belt;
4. Check the transmission, drive axle, working oil pump, and water pump drive unit for any abnormal noises;
5. Add lubricating oil or grease to the clutch and brake longitudinal linkages as needed;
6. Inspect the wear on the piston rods of the lift cylinder and tilt cylinder, and smooth out any minor scratches with a stone or fine sandcloth;
7. Check and tighten the bolts and nuts on the tires.
Main contents of second-level forklift maintenance:
1. Clean the interior of the engine oil pan, crankcase, and oil filter, and replace with new oil;
2. Clean the fuel tank and check the connections between the fuel lines and the fuel pump for any looseness or oil leaks;
3. Inspect the breaker points of the distributor and adjust the dwell angle;
4. Check and tighten all exposed bolts on the generator;
5. Check the battery's discharge capacity and charge it if necessary;
6. Replace the coolant in the radiator;
7. Inspect and adjust the free travel of the clutch and brake pedals, as well as the brake clearance of the wheel brakes;
8. Drain sediment and water from the bottom of the hydraulic oil tank, clean the filter, and add new oil as appropriate;
9. Check whether the tension of the two lift chains is consistent;
10. Inspect the forklift forks and fork heels for any deformation or cracking.
Main contents of third-level forklift maintenance:
1. Adjust the valve clearance;
2. Measure cylinder pressure and investigate the cause if it is unsatisfactory;
3. Check the working performance of the clutch and make adjustments if necessary;
4. Inspect the free travel of the steering wheel and the connections of the steering tie rods, and check the wear on the kingpin and steering arm pin;
5. Check the bearing wear on the clutch and brake pedal shafts;
6. Perform a thorough cleaning of the forklift, and check and tighten all bolts and nuts on exposed parts.
