# Preparation and Inspection Before Forklift Operation

Completing preparation and inspection before the forklift starts working is very critical and important, as it is closely related to safety in many aspects. Understand the operating conditions of the forklift, and the operator on duty should truthfully explain the forklift's working conditions and current status. 2. Check whether the forklift's appearance has been bumped or scratched, whether the bolts are loose, whether the glass is intact, whether all components are complete, whether the tire pressure reaches the specified pressure, and whether the tires are damaged. 3. The tire wear standard is based on a visual inspection of whether the tire cords are exposed. Worn tires on BMX trailer tires should be less than 8 cm. Check whether the forklift mast is loose, and tighten it if it is loose. 4. Check whether the battery terminals are firm and reliable. 5. Check for oil, water, and air leaks, and check whether the water tank is short of antifreeze. During inspection, pay attention to the vehicle temperature. First observe the value on the water temperature gauge. When the temperature exceeds 50 degrees, it is prohibited to open the water tank cap to avoid splashing accidents. The standard for adding antifreeze to the water tank is: the antifreeze level is at the lower edge of the water tank cap. 6. Check whether the engine oil is leaking or missing. Before inspection, the forklift must be stationary for more than ten minutes to avoid inaccurate oil gauge readings caused by oil failing to return to the oil pan in time. When checking the dipstick, please ensure that the dipstick is clean. If the level is below the lower mark on the dipstick, add oil in time, and the amount added must not exceed the upper mark on the dipstick. 7. Check whether the engine belt, fan belt, and alternator belt are loose or worn. 8. Check whether the engine has oil leakage and whether the bearings are abnormal. 9. Check whether the instruments, switches, lights, signals, and wipers are working properly.
