The drive axle is an important component of a wheel loader, bearing vertical, longitudinal, and lateral forces, as well as braking torque and reaction forces, which act between the road surface and the frame or body. 1. Abnormal Noise
There are many causes of abnormal noise in the drive axle, which may be gear issues, bearing issues, or differential failures. The various causes are analyzed in detail below.

2. Drive Axle Overheating
If the axle housing feels very hot when touched during or after machine operation, it indicates drive axle overheating. The main causes are excessively small bearing clearance and gear meshing clearance, or a lack of lubricating oil.
Solution: First, check whether lubricating oil is insufficient. If the oil level is adequate, remove the main drive and inspect and adjust the bearing clearance or gear meshing clearance.
3. Oil Leakage
When the machine is running or stopped, if gear oil seeps from the connection between the main drive and the axle housing, as well as from inside the hub reducer, oil leakage has occurred. Leakage at the connection between the main drive and the axle housing is caused by loose bolts or damaged asbestos paper gaskets; leakage inside the hub reducer is mainly caused by damaged double-lip skeleton oil seals or "O" rings.
Solution: Replace the double-lip skeleton oil seal or the asbestos paper gasket.
