The starter of a forklift is a relatively expensive component and generally does not easily get damaged. However, in order to extend the service life of the forklift starter, routine maintenance and correct usage methods are also very necessary. The following are the maintenance methods for forklift starters. 1. During the process of starting the engine, the starter needs to draw 300~400 Ah of electricity from the battery. To prevent the battery from overcurrent or damage, the starting time should not exceed 5 seconds; if the first start fails, wait 10-15 seconds before attempting a second start. 2. It is prohibited to turn on the starter switch while the engine is running or has not yet stopped, to avoid severe impact on the gears and resulting damage. After the engine starts, the starter switch should be released immediately. Starting difficulties are common in winter, so preheating should be done in advance; if multiple starts are needed, each starting time should not be too long, and appropriate intervals should be left between each start. 3. Be sure to install the dust cover properly to prevent dust from entering the interior of the starter, and keep all components clean, especially the brush holder and commutator. 4.
