Standard forklifts have a low chassis and can typically only operate on flat, even ground. They use rear-wheel drive, and their small standard tires provide average traction. In contrast, rough terrain forklifts feature four-wheel drive and a higher chassis than standard forklifts, offering better passability over potholed terrain and preventing chassis impacts. Rough terrain forklifts are larger in size and equipped with high-horsepower engines, delivering strong power output. When working on rugged roads such as mountain paths or muddy trails, their off-road tires provide strong grip and resist slipping. 1. Excessive Small End Clearance at the Joint: If the end clearance is too small during installation, when the piston ring temperature of the rough terrain forklift rises, the metal at the joint expands, causing the two ends to push against each other and bend, leading to breakage near the joint. 2. Carbon Deposits in the Ring Groove: Overheating of the cylinder wall causes the lubricating oil to oxidize or burn off, resulting in severe carbon buildup in the cylinder, which hinders piston ring movement. Over time, the piston ring undergoes bending fatigue and breaks. 3. Excessive Wear of the Ring Groove: When the lower end face of the ring groove is severely worn, it takes on a bell-mouth shape. When the piston is near top dead center, the force of combustion gas pressure presses the piston ring tightly against the inclined lower end face of the ring groove, causing distortion and deformation. 4. Piston Ring Catching on the Port: Due to the high tension at the ring opening and significant thermal deformation, the ribs between the ports on the cylinder liner are prone to deformation when heated. During piston movement, when the ring meets the port, if the ring opening slightly catches on the port, it can cause the ring to break.
